Re: Discussion Program of the 33rd Ship for Southeast Asian Youth Program in 2006

Dear Presidents,

I would like to express my appreciation for your sincere cooperation and hard work towards the Ship for Southeast Asian Youth Program and the development of the post-program activities.  At the conference held in March 2006, the Cabinet Office proposed the Guideline for the Discussion Program of the 33rd SSEAYP in 2006 and it was unanimously accepted for implementation subject to the considerations raised by ASEAN governments.

The Discussion Program for SSEAYP 2006 shall involve facilitators with good grasp of current issues and extensive experiences to provide the needed support in the operation of the program.  The Center for International Youth Exchange has been entrusted by the Government of Japan to select the eight (8) facilitators according to the basic requirements.  The respective governments and/or alumni associations may nominate appropriate persons to the Center for International Youth Exchange according to the attached “Guideline on the Selection of Discussion Facilitators for SSEAYP 2006” not later than May 31, 2006.
